KARACHI, Jan 28: Senator Nisar A Memon, Chairman, the Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production, said here on Saturday that political system in the country is working smoothly and there were no major differences in the ruling Pakistan Muslim League.

“Whatever differences reported in the past have subsided and the party is now working in an effective manner for the development of the country and is being organized to make it the party of masses once again for the coming elections”, said Nisar Memon while talking to newsmen.

Responding to another question, Mr Memon said that all decisions to award PML tickets for the coming senate elections would be taken by the PML Parliamentary Board, headed by its President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

The members of the board included Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, PML Punjab President Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Illahi, PML Sindh President Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yusuf, PML NWFP President Eng Amir Muqam and Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed.

In reply to another question, he said that 18 PML senators would retire after comple-tion of their three-year term as per balloting results in March while 23 senators would complete their six-year term.
