KARACHI: Cable operator found dead in Landhi

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 28: The bullet-riddled body of a cable operator was found in a car in Landhi on Saturday. The man, later identified as Mohammad Irshad, 35, was father of two daughters. His body was lying beside the driving seat, which indicated that he did not drive the car, police said.

Irshad had gone to attend a wedding ceremony of his friend’s sister in Landhi. After attending the ceremony, he was on his way to home when the incident took place.

The victim’s brother Mohammad Ishaq got an FIR registered with the police suspecting that his brother had been kidnapped and killed. However, he did not nominate anyone and told the police that the victim and his family had not harboured any grudge with anyone.

In Landhi, the body of a man with his throat slit was found in a public school.

Police said that the man was believed to have been kidnapped from somewhere else and taken to a classroom of a government primary school in “K” Area of Korangi, where his throat was slit with a sharp edged weapon.

Later, police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. The identity of the victim could not be established immediately.

Police said that Abdul Majeed was hit by a speeding vehicle near Pakistan Cable Chowrangi in Site. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy.
