Rail track blown up

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 27: Rail traffic on the Multan-Jacobabad section was suspended after a portion of the track was blown in a ‘bomb’ blast near here on Friday night.

The explosion took place at 9.50pm in Pul Kambar, 30kms in north, a few minutes before the arrival of the engine piloting upcountry Chiltan Express coming from Quetta.

Sources said the blast damaged the track and created a four- foot deep crater. Repair work was taken in hand within no time, a railway official said.

The train was halted at the local railway station. It was the third sabotage activity in the Dera Ghazi Khan area this year and 12th during the last two years.
