KARACHI, Jan 27: Paceman Javon Searles snapped up five wickets for 33 runs but failed to save West Indies U-19 from 15 runs defeat against Pakistan U-19 in third ODI at NBP Sports Complex ground on Friday.
Pakistan U-19 is leading the four match series 2-1 with the last match to be played on Saturday at UBL Sports Complex.
Right arm pacer Searles produced a fiery spell to remove Pakistan’s top order, reducing them to 40 for four before being dismissed for 225 in 48.3 overs after being sent to bat first.
West Indies in response were bowled out for 210 in 48.2 overs with fast medium bowler Jamshed Ahmed grabbing three wickets for 39 runs. Jason Muhammad and Gajanand cracked contrasting half centuries.
Muhammad hit seven fourss in his 59 after consuming 71 deliveries and Singh hit three boundaries in his 61 off 80 balls. The pair shared 76 runs for fourth wicket.
Earlier Muhammad Ibrahim saved hosts from disaster with a fighting half century and put on 83 runs for the fifth wicket with allrounder Anwar Ali. Ibrahim hit four boundaries in his 60 off 97 balls while Anwar’s 53-ball knock of 46 included two boundaries. taking two for 27 in a tight ten overs spell.
