Indian manager urges Pakistan players to show calm
KARACHI, Jan 27: Indian cricket team manager, Raj Singh Dugarpur on Friday called upon Pakistani players to show calm during the high profile Pakistan-India series to maintain friendly atmosphere between the two greatest rivals of cricket.
Pakistani players including pacers Shoiab Akhtar, Muhammad Sami and Shahid Afridi were seen exchanging verbal exchanges with Indian batsmen during the Lahore and Faisalabad Tests.
“It was the home team players who started verbal clashes with our batsmen and they should avoid their remarks in order to sustain friendly atmosphere in the future action between the two neighbouring countries,” Dugarpur told reporters.
Defending his players, the Indian manager alleged that it was Pakistani bowlers who were involved in verbal spatsw with our batsmen while his players only informed the umpires for Pakistani players behaviour.
He also criticised dead pitches that saw the first two Tests ending Laborious draw and hoped that the Karachi Test would end the stalemate.
“It does not matter which team wins the final Test but the result of the series is vital for the success of the Pakistan-India event which is bigger than Ashes series,” said the manager.
Dungarpur said that a lot had been said regarding Ganguly’s controversy, which should be ended now as the left-handed batsman has conducted himself as a true team member.
“Ganguly’s controversy should be erased and I had no difference with Prince of Kolkata as he has been remarkable throughout this tour as a team member,” said Indian manager.—PPI
