ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made an unimpressive start to their Patron’s Trophy Quadrangular game against Habib Bank at the KRL Stadium on a day affected by poor light.

Play was not possible for almost 100 minutes but that did not prevent the bank pacers Shahid Nazir and Kamran Hussain restrict their opponents to 167-7 in 50.4 overs.

Shahid picked up 3-22 in his second spell after lunch removing topscorer Ghulam Ali (79) and also accounting for Mahmood Hamid (36) and Muhammad Zahid (3).

Kamran Hussain bowled well too snapping up two wickets including the scalp of opener Kamran Sajid (18).

There was a 72-minute stoppage because of bad light before lunch after the Bankers had won the toss and asked PIA to bat first. Later play had to be called off almost half an hour before the scheduled 4.30pm close.
