High court judge escapes unhurt in rocket attack

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 27: A judge of the Balochistan High Court escaped unhurt after a rocket was fired on his vehicle in the Bolan Valley on Friday morning. He was on his way to Sibi.

Levies officials in Mach told Dawn that three rockets were fired on the vehicle of Justice Nadir Khan of the Balochistan High Court near Darazband, some 98 kilometres in the West. The rockets missed the vehicle and exploded in open area without causing any damage.

Justice Nadir Khan was going to attend the proceedings of the Sibi circuit court, officials said. They said the judge went ahead with his tour and returned to Quetta in the afternoon after disposing of official business in Sibi.

The Levies official claimed that law-enforcement agency had launched a search operation to apprehend the saboteurs.
