KARACHI, Jan 27: The prime minister’s visit to the US has been very successful and would further promote the strategic partnership between the two countries in trade, economic, defence and security fields and the two countries are expected to move forward towards the conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

These views were expressed by the Chairman of Senate Defence Committee, Nisar Memon. He was addressing consul-generals of various countries at an informal gathering organized by the consul-general of Switzerland, Julius F Anderegg, at his residence here on Friday night.

Senator Nisar Memon, who accompanied the premier on his recent official visit to the US also spoke of the detailed meetings of the prime minister with the top representatives of American corporate sector.

He said that foreign direct investment in Pakistan had been on the high side during the last fiscal and would double during the current fiscal mainly due to the strong and buoyant national economy.—PPI
