KARACHI, Jan 27: Two vessels to load and offload containers and rice were berthed at the QICT and MPT during the last 24 hour, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 67 per cent as six ships, Mare Lycium, Al-Mirqab, Laem Thong Pride, Sea Synergy, Sea Charm and Ace-7, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, wheat and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 32,729 tons comprising 20,270 tons of import cargo and 12,459 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Mare Lycium, Sea Synergy and Ace-7 left the port while Al-Mirqab was due to depart.

Two ships, Yanaseni and NCC Madinah, with chemicals and edible oil were due to arrive on Friday while Maersk Vungtau, Krittika and Maple Galaxy were expected to reach on Saturday.

Four ships, Alpha Flamee, May Oldendorff, China Star and Katharina, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
