Murtaza slams winner

LAHORE, Jan 26: Five goals by Agha Murtaza Ali Khan, including a hat trick propelled The Collectibles to 7-5 1/2 win over CCL in Novices Cup Polo on Thursday.

The losers had 1 ½ goal handicap. The winners made a fine start scoring three goals in the first chukker to take 3-1 1/2 lead. Kashif Jamal drew first blood followed by back-to-back goals by Murtaza.

The winners increased the lead to 4- 1 1/2 as Murtaza scored his third goal in the second chukker to complete the hat trick.

The Collectibles surged ahead 6-2 1/2 in the third chukker. CCL scored their first goal through Kamran Nooruddin.

Murtaza and Kashif scored a goal each for the winners. CCL made impressive efforts in the last chukker scoring three goals but that fell short.

Shahbaz Omar Khan, Ashfaq and Kamran scored a goal each. Murtaza banged home his last goal for the winners to seal the fate of the match.

Three goals each by Azhar Ali and Hashim Kamal Agha steered Technimen to 7-1 win over Wahid’s.

Ali Hasnain chipped in a goal. For the losers, Qaisar Tirmizi scored the consolation goal.
