KARACHI, Jan 24: Inam Gul marched into the quarterfinal of Sindh ranking tennis championship after recording a straight sets victory against Taimur in the second round of men’s single on Tuesday at DHA Club.
Inam, who failed to make it to the Davis Cup team, looked in great touch in outclassing Taimur 6-2, 6-2. Rizwan Shamsi enjoyed easy sailing beating Kashif Pirozani 6-1, 6-0 in straight sets.
M Shafik (Sahiwal) and Mateen Arif were the other players who registered victories in the second round of men’s singles.
The juniors U-17 second round saw one-sided affairs with Hidayatullah, Mateen Arif, Syed Abbas Raza, Ali Asgher and Jehangir Rasheed winning their matches with ease.
