RDCA to host tournament

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: The Rawalpindi District Cricket Association (RDCA) on Tuesday announced it would hold a knockout tournament next month.

In its first meeting under the newly-elected officials, it was decided to stage the event which had been named the District Nazim Cup.

The meeting chaired by Ashraf Qureshi, the president of the association approved the executive committee and empowered it to form various committees.

It was also decided the officials would open a bank account and operate it besides also naming the District Nazim as its chief patron with Prof Ishtiaq Hussain Shah as the patron.

The house formed different committees ahead of the One-day International between Pakistan and India to be played in Rawalpindi next month.
