SHIKARPUR, Jan 24: Sindh Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal president MNA Asadullah Bhutto has expressed concern over the alleged step-motherly attitude of the federal government towards Sindh on the issue of the NFC award. Speaking at a meeting of activists of the Jamaat-i-Islami in the Lakhi Ghulam Shah town on Tuesday, he regretted that Sindh had been given a meagre share in financial resources. He called for announcing the award on the basis of revenue generation.
He said people were facing numerous problems, including unemployment, price hike and lawlessness, which led to suicides by the jobless and poor youth because they were not able to earn livelihood for their families.
He alleged that the leadership of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was not sincere in getting Sindh’s due share in the NFC award on the basis of revenue generation.
He criticized the government for not allowing opposition leaders to visit Bajaur agency.
The MMA leader also demanded that the education department should appoint teachers on merit basis.
KILLED: One person was shot dead and two others were injured in a clash between two groups in the Naparkot police area on Tuesday.
Mohammad Yaqoob Teghani, 22, was killed when Ogahi clansmen attacked the Nizamuddin Teghani village and opened fire.
Two other people belonging to the Teghani tribe were injured in the firing. Their names could not be ascertained.
The motive behind the incident is said to be an old dispute in which 10 people from both sides have been killed.
The Naparkot police have registered a case.
