BD tea prices


CHITTAGONG, Jan 24: The average price of Bangladesh teas fell 1.42 per cent to 76.20 taka ($1.14) per kg on poor quality at the weekly auction on Tuesday, brokers said.

“More than 1.06 million kg were sold at an average price of 76.20 taka per kg, down 1.10 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was the season’s highest at 46.20,” an auctioneer said.

Some 300 kg of well-made Golden Broken Orange Pekoe realized the highest price of 127 taka per kg followed by 100 kg of Pekoe Fannings selling at 122 taka. Other grades sold at 57 to 114 taka.—Reuters
