Fahad extends Hasan

KARACHI, Jan 23: Hasan Azad struggled against Fahad Muhammad before entering the second round of Sindh Ranking tennis championship by overcoming his rival on Monday at DHA Club.

Hasan lost the second set before wining the decisive third set to enter the next stage of boys U-15 singles following a 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 victory against Fahad in a two-hour encounter.

Four more matches were decided with Manoj Kumar, Sunny Williams, Omer Shahid and Zohair Raza advancing into the second round after winning their matches.

In the remaining first round match of men’s single, Danish Ahmed marched into the next stage by beating Salman Ahmed 6-3, 7-5.

Khwaja Hamza showed impressive performance in the boy’s U-11 singles outclassing Sameer Farishta 6-0, 6-0 in less time while Vinod Das and Imran Mooraj were the other players to advance into the second round.

Boys U-11: Khwaja Hamza bt Sameer Farishta 6-0, 6-0; Vinod Das bt Anisur Rehman 6-1, 6-3; Imran Mooraj bt Taha Band-e-Ali 6-3, 6-1.
