Meeting postponed

HYDERABAD, Jan 23: A scheduled meeting between district government officials of Jamshoro and Dadu could not be held on Monday due to some ‘commitments’ of the Dadu DCO.

The meeting was to be held in presence of the chief of the local body department’s transition wing, Qabool Ahmad Shaikh.

It is learnt that the DCO of Dadu communicated his inability to attend the meeting in Jamshoro because of prior commitments.

“The DCO had some other commitments, that’s why I have to reschedule the meeting to some other day in the coming week,” said Mr Shaikh when he was contacted over telephone.

Mr Shaikh was also to hold a meeting with Umerkot and Mirpurkhas district officials under directives of the secretary for local government, Ishaq Lashari, to sort out issues pending between the districts in respect of distribution of assets, funds, properties and liabilities.

A source in the Jamshoro district government blamed Dadu district officials for delaying matters pending between the two districts for over one year.
