KARACHI: SESSI’s help for quake relief lauded


KARACHI, Jan 23: Sind Minister for Labour and Chairman Government Body of Sindh Employuees’ Social Security Institution Mohammad Adil Sididiqui has lauded the efforts of the governing body of SESSI for steps taken for the victims of earthquake.

The directives was issued at the governing body meeting of the SESSI which was held under the Chairmanship of Miniser Labour Mohammad Adil Siddiqui.

The governing body also approved various steps for the welfare of the dependents of the registered workers.

These included upgradition of Kotri Hospital, provision of ambulance with modern equipment for SESSI Health Centre, early revival of Kidny Centre, Landhi and other projects.

The meeting also approved the annual report, charter of demand of the SESSI Staff Union, grade-wise special package for the heirs of those employees who expired during service and various administrative affairs.

It also reviewed steps with regard to construction of Quaid SESSI Medical and Dental College.

The meeting was informed that the registered workers and their dependents from Interior of Sindh have to cover long distance to get medical facility from Valika Hosptal in Karachi for which they not only spend money but also time.

A member of the Governing Body Khalilur Rehman in this connection presented a proposal that Social Security Hospital Kotri is an ideal alternate and with the cooperation of the Workers Welfare Board, this hospital be upgraded with provision of all possible medical facilities. The meeting approved this proposal.

Addressing the meeting Minister Adil Siddiqui said that during last three years, SESSI health centres were provided with latest medical equipment amounting to Rs 80 million.

The minister informed that construction of Kidney Centre Landhi is complete and after installation of various equipment, it would be ready to provide all kinds of kidney treatment to workers.

In the next phase, the minister said that kindly transplant facility would also be available there.—APP
