KARACHI, Jan 23: A week-long training programme on “office management” for nazims and naib nazims of district and tehsil/town and union councils and functionaries of local councils began on Monday.

As many as 65 participants from Punjab, Sindh, the NWFP and Balochistan are attending the course at Municipal Training and Research Institute.

The objectives of the course are to refresh the knowledge of the participants in their day-to-day job requirements; to raise the skill of supervisory and supporting staff in work analysis, work management and time management; to equip the participants with modern techniques of communication including drafting, correspondence and computer orientation.

The training course would also enable the participants to point out the time-wasters and other problems and their solution, besides office performance evaluation techniques and report writing. —APP
