Five killed as coaster overturns in Jhang

JHANG, Jan 22: Five people were killed and four sustained serious injuries in an accident on Sargodha Road, some three kilometres from here on Saturday afternoon. A speeding coaster (LZJ-6715) was on its way to Jhang from Chattha. Near Rasoolpur and it overturned while overtaking a bus (ND-1255) that hit the coaster from the side.

As a result, Mehdi Hayat of Chak Balochanwala, Rehmatullah of Chandna, Ghulam Fareed of Chak Jalaldin, Yousaf of Mandi Shah Jewna and an unidentified person died instantly. While Fayyaz Hussain, Allah Ditta, Sher Muhammad and Ghulam Fareed suffered serious injuries.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead over a money dispute in Dargahi Shah village in the limits of 18 Hazari police station on Saturday.

According to the FIR, deceased Sajid Ali Shah had a dispute with Anwar Jappa. On Saturday, Shah was going to the cattleshed on the village outskirts when accused Anwar opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.
