KARACHI, Jan 22: As many as 72 position holders of the HSC annual examinations 2004 conducted by all the four educational boards of the province will be given cash awards at a ceremony on Jan 23. According to an official of the Sindh Education Department, the first three position holders of various annual examinations held by the Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Larkana education boards will be given the awards.

The education department has advised position holders for the year 2004 of the intermediate education boards in Sindh to attend the prize distribution ceremony scheduled for Monday at the DJ Sindh Government Science College Karachi.

Students who have clinched first three positions in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Commerce, Arts, Home Economics and General groups in the intermediate annual examinations 2004 will be awarded cash prizes worth RsRs50,000 for first position, and Rs30,000 and Rs20,000 for second and third positions respectively.

The concerned position holders, entitled to the cash awards, have been advised to contact the principal of DJ Sindh Government Science College with original copies of their mark sheets, certificates, national identity cards and photographs, establishing their entitlement to the award by 5pm on Jan 23.

The Sindh secretary for education in a statement on Saturday also invited parents/guardians, teachers and family members of these meritorious students to attend the ceremony being organized in recognition of their efforts and success.
