President flies to Norway tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21: President Pervez Musharraf will pay an official visit to Norway from Jan 23-25 for talks on boosting bilateral ties and issues of international concern, a Foreign Office spokesman said on Saturday.

It will be first-ever high-level visit from Pakistan to Norway.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg visited Pakistan in December 2005 to express solidarity with the people affected by the Oct 8 earthquake.

President Musharraf would call on King Harald V in Oslo and would hold talks with Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg on Jan 24.

The talks would cover bilateral matters and issues of international concern.

The president would also meet the President of the Norwegian Storting (Parliament) Thorbjorn Jagland.—APP
