GUJRANWALA, Jan 21: A youth fell victim to celebration firing at a marriage ceremony at Naushera road late on Friday.
Reports said during the marriage procession, the groom Akhtar’s friends started firing in the air. As a result, a bullet hit one Muhammad Yasin, a relative of the bride. He died on the way to local DHQ hospital. The groom also got injured in the firing. Police arrested the groom and his friends.
Meanwhile, DPO Dr Arif Mushtaq directed all SHOs to check firing incidents at marriage ceremonies and also arrest those involved in displaying fireworks.
