Students’ seminar held

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, Jan 21: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP), organized the 21st All-Pakistan Students’ Seminar-2006 at the Jamshoro campus on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, vice-chancellor Prof (Dr) A. Q. K. Rajput, who presided over the seminar, congratulated students who presented research papers in the competition.

He said the seminar was a step towards training university students in presenting and defending their projects before professors, students and industry experts. This exposure would go a long way in developing confidence among students, he maintained. He said students selected by independent jurors would have an opportunity to present their papers before much larger audience of international calibre.

IEEEP Karachi Centre president S.K. Pervez said his institute had received 44 projects from various engineering institutes for presentation in the seminar but only 18 had been selected due to shortage of time.
