KARACHI: Governor inaugurates Ghazi’s Urs


KARACHI, Jan 21: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan inaugurated the 1275th annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi by laying a floral wreath and offering Fateha at the Mazar here on Saturday.

Later, he reviewed the development work of the Mazar Complex and directed the officials for an early completion of the project.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that Sindh was the land of saints. They spread the message of love, unity, tolerance, peace and brotherhood and Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi gave the same message.

“We can establish an atmosphere of peace, unity and brotherhood in the country by following the teachings of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi”, he observed.

Dr. Ibad said that the steps were being taken to curb use of narcotics at the Mazars in the province.

To a question, he said that immediate necessary measures were adopted whenever any complaint in this regard is received.

He said that not only use of narcotics has been eliminated, but encroachments have been removed.

To a question he said that foolproof security arrangements are being adopted for the Muharramul Haram and the SOP which was being implemented for the last three years, will be executed.

It was the first Urs after initiation of the development project launched on the directives of Dr Ishratul Ibad for provision of facilities for pilgrims, as well beautification of Mazar Complex.—APP
