KARACHI, Jan 20: Three ships carrying containers and steel scrap are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where nine ships were berthed. They are: Kota Teraju, Golden Express, to unload and load containers, Keng Tung, to offload and load general cargo, Rizcun Trader, to load rice, Maersk Taiyo, to offload vehicles, Puspita, to unload coal, Shalamar to unload crude oil, Jo Gran to load molasses and Adhidaya, to offload tallow.

Sailing was also active as eight vessels, Satha Bum, CMA CGM Swala, Golden Express, Hyundai Future, Orionis, Lapta Galaxy, Jor Birk and Y.M. Star, while Johar, Anangel Express, Sinar Bontang, Induruwa Valley, Captain George Tsangari, Kota Teraju, Kota Mesra and Adhidaya are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage rose to 0.168m tons comprising 21,097 tons of export cargo and 0.147m tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Sagamore, Iran Baabae, with containers and Almar, with steel scrap.
