HYDERABAD, Jan 19: The Pakistan Workers Federation has criticized what it called anti-workers policies of the Hyderabad Development Authority and said the workers have not been given any funds for purchase of uniform.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the central chairman of the federation, Mehmood Hussain Siddiqui and general secretary, Mehboob Ali Qureshi, said that senior employees were being superseded by junior employees in respect of promotions, GP fund and welfare funds of workers amounting to tens of millions of rupees, was not being deposited in the bank and the workers were not being issued provident fund slips.

They claimed that when the general secretary of HDA Mehran Workers Union, Insaf Ali Lashari, raised his voice on these issues, he was transferred twice in a month.

They termed the transfer sheer victimization.

They alleged that the HDA administration and the CBA union had unleashed a reign of terror to ensure victory of the pocket union in the forthcoming referendum for the CBA.

They accused the HDA administration of becoming a party in the referendum and added that it was a flagrant violation of labour laws which is tantamount to unfair labour practices.

They extended support of 40 CBA unions affiliated with the federation to the Mehran Workers Union.
