UAE firm to invest Rs45 billion

ISLAMABAD, Jan 19: Al Ghurair Giga Pakistan — a UAE-based developer — will invest around Rs45 billion in construction of 26 buildings for Defense Housing Authority, Islamabad. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday Director of the company, Haji Rafiq Pardesi, said that the 26 buildings, including 17 high-rise towers and nine buildings of 7-9-storeys, would be constructed within the stipulated time period.
The company had committed to the DHA, Islamabad, to complete the construction of these buildings latest by the year 2009.
Answering a question, he said that the buildings would have the quality to resist earthquake shocks, but added quickly that no one could provide guarantee in this regard.
Elaborating further, he said that the project would be provided with amenities like mosques, hospital, schools, swimming pools, lake, public parks, and 24-hour gated security with the help of surveillance cameras. The buildings would be fully equipped with latest international facilities like high-speed internet and telecommunications network.
