Nasir blasts century

KARACHI, Jan 18: Opener Nasir Jamshed blasted a brilliant century to power Pakistan under-19 to an emphatic five wicket win over Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) in a warm-up one day match at National Stadium on Wednesday.

Nasir belted 15 boundaries and a brace of sixes in his 117 off mere 103 deliveries as they overhauled KESC’s total in 40.1 overs for the loss of five wickets.

Muhammad Ibrahim smashed a rapid-fire 37 off 28 balls with the aid of eight powerful boundaries. Ali Asad also added 37 in 34 balls with five hits to the boundary.

Earlier, KESC, batting first, recovered from a shaky start of 35 for three to post 238 all out in their 50 overs thanks to a dazzling knock of 83 off 101 balls by Fazal Subhan, laced with ten fours and a pair of sixes.

Javed Mansoor banged three sixes and two fours in his 39 and Asad Shafique hit six fours in his 36.
