KARACHI, Jan 18: Three persons including two women died and five others were injured in a road accident in Korangi on Wednesday night. Police said the accident occurred in Korangi No 4 when a bus of route 61-A collided with a pickup truck resulting in the fatalities.

Police said the dead were identified as Saima, 22, Seema, 35, and Sudhir, 35, travelling in the pickup truck.

According to reports, occupants of the pickup truck were going to a wedding reception when the accident occurred.

The five injured in the accident identified as Saira, 60, Jamshed, 35, Atiq, 18, Muhammad Usman, 28 and Raheel, 25, were also said to be travelling in the pickup truck, police said.

The driver of the bus escaped from the spot after the accident, police said.
