GUJRANWALA, Jan 17: Pakistan and India have the potential to raise trade volume by $10 billion. This was stated by Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation of India General-Manager Sanjiv Bawa while speaking at the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday. He appreciated the chief ministers of both Punjabs for improving trade ties between the two neighbours.
He showed keen interest in engineering sector and said: “We must participate in ‘Made in Gujranwala’ exhibition.”
SIALKOT: The Indian businessmen have called for increasing trade volume between the two countries through joint ventures.
Addressing a meeting of local exporters and industrialists at the SCCI, Indian team head Sanjiv Bawa said trade relations would bring about prosperity in both the countries.
The team agreed with the Sialkot businessmen that regular exchange of trade delegations and necessary business information could help improve economic relations between India and Pakistan.
Earlier, the Indian businessmen visited various sports, leather and surgical instruments units and appreciated the craftsmanship.
Mr Bawa hailed the steps taken by Pakistan government for elimination of child labour from soccer ball industry. He said Sialkot’s role model programme was being run successfully in Jallundhar’s soccer ball industry in cooperation with the SCCI.
