KARACHI, Jan 17: Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation Director Prof Adibul Hasan Rizvi will deliver the plenary lecture on “Paediatric renal transplantation in children” during the forthcoming second symposium of National Institute of Child Health, commencing on Jan 28.

His presentation will be followed by a presentation on “Perinatal Care in Pakistan” by Prof Zulfiqar Bhutta of Aga Khan University.

Addressing a press briefing here on Tuesday, NICH Director Prof Afroze Ramzan Sher Ali and 2nd NICH Symposium Scientific Committee Chairman Dr Jamshed Akhtar said that the event was planned to comprehensively cover almost every aspect of paediatric health issue.

Experts from different parts of the world will also deliver keynote lectures on different topics. In addition about 10 invited lectures by renowned national researchers are also part of the three-day event.

Keeping in view the needs of the country and the region, a pre-symposium seminar on “Neural tube deficit” has been planned for Jan 27, Prof Afroze Ramzan said.

A nursing symposium with provision for a workshop on infection control for nurses has also been planned for Jan 27.

On Jan 29, plenary lectures will be presented by Dr Anette Jacobson from Singapore and Dr Farhat Moazzam of SIUT will also speak. Parallel theme oriented scientific sessions on oncology, hematology, paediatric surgery and infectious diseases are also scheduled for the day. —APP
