SC seeks report on patient’s ‘molestation’

By A Correspondent

MULTAN, Jan 16: The Supreme Court has sought a report from Punjab police chief on a complaint lodged against a senior faculty member of the Nishter Medical College and Hospital for allegedly molesting a woman patient.

The IGP was told through a letter sent by the apex court registrar office that the chief justice had sought the report on the matter on Jan 24.

The complaint was lodged by the patient’s husband against a senior surgeon of the orthopaedic surgery department of the hospital.

An English language and literature teacher working at a state-run postgraduate institution had complained to the provincial health department authorities that the surgeon had molested his wife and later threatened her of dire consequences if she did not ‘cooperate’.
