LARKANA, Jan 16: The Sindh Safe Blood Transfusion Authority will provide free test facilities along with blood packs at the central laboratory of the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana.

Dr Zahid Ansari, programme manager of the SBTA, said this while speaking at a seminar titled ‘blood safety and protection against Thalassaemia’ here on Monday.

It was jointly organized by the Shahbaz Social Welfare association and Hussaini Blood Bank.

Gul Sher Mangi, general secretary of the organization said the number of Thalassaemia cases in Larkana district was in thousands and there was an urgent need of establishing ‘Thalassaemia Care Center’.

Dr S. Sarfraz Jaferi, project director of the SBTA announced that the Hussaini Blood Bank would provide free kits for undertaking HIV/Aids and Hepatitis-B and C tests in the district. He said that one diploma in running blood bank would be offered by the Hussaini Blood Bank in Larkana.
