KARACHI: Anti-blindness drive

Published January 17, 2006

KARACHI, Jan 16: To save millions of people from being blind, Campaign Sight First-II has been launched in Pakistan. The launching ceremony here was held on Saturday night, which was also attended by Indian delegates.

Speakers at the ceremony said that this campaign would benefit about 50 million people globally, who were at risk of blindness and if prompt steps were not taken, this figure could rise up to 74 million by 2020.

In the first campaign, 24 million people had benefited worldwide besides upgrading of various clinics and eye hospitals. — APP
