Kerry calls on Soomro

ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: US Senator John Kerry called on Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro and exchanged views on wide-ranging issues including Pakistan-US relations, ongoing peace process with India and regional situation with particular reference to terrorism.

Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri and US Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker were also present on the occasion.

The Senate chairman said Pakistan valued its friendship with the United States and both the countries shared common values and stood for peace in the world.

About the ongoing Pakistan-India peace dialogue, he informed the visiting US senator that various steps had been taken by Pakistan to improve ties in line with its principled policy of peaceful coexistence.
