Optimist, Laser 4.7 trials

KARACHI, Jan 15: Three-day trials to select Pakistan sailors for Optimist and Laser 4.7 classes of the Asian championship will be held at PAF Yacht Club on Monday. “In the first phase trials for the two events in the best of seven race series will be held,” secretary general Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) Syed Vaqar Hasan said on Sunday.

He said the two-day trials to select sailors for Enterprise class of the World championship would be conducted at Pakistan Navy Aquatics Club from Jan 21. World Enterprise championship will be held at Colombo (Sri Lanka) on Feb 11-18.

He said the trials for 470, Laser Standard and Laser Radial for the Asian Regatta would commence on Jan 26 at Aquatics Club. The Asian championship is scheduled to be held at Doha (Qatar) on March 16-24.

The selected sailors would attend a training camp before their departure for World Enterprise and Asian championship, he said.—APP
