KARACHI:4 die, 16 injured in two accidents

KARACHI, Jan 15: Four persons died and 16 others were wounded in two road accidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. Three passengers died and 16 others were wounded when a coach carrying a marriage party overturned on Mauripur Road.

Police said that Akbar Coach overturned resulting in the death of Khalid, Javed and Asad. Besides, 16 passengers were injured in the accident. All the injured and the bodies were sent to the Civil and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

According to the police, the coach driver escaped following the accident.

In Saudabad area, a speeding motorcycle knocked down a 60-year-old man.

Police said that Nararullah was crossing the main road in Saudabad when a speeding motorcyclist hit him and escaped.

The injured was taken to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The elderly man succumbed to wounds on his way to the JPMC.
