She agreed with the proposal of the chief fire officers that the subject of fire fighting should be included in the curriculum.

She said it was imperative that people should know the basics of fire fighting. She lauded the services of the fire brigade department for their efforts for timely helping of earthquake victims.

The fire officers, on the occasion, showed her the medals and awards given to them on timely rescue operations. They included awards given by the prime minister, army, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other institutions.

They told her that realizing the importance of search and rescue teams, the prime minister had announced setting of two such teams at the federal level. CFO Kazim Ali and DCFO Naeem Yousuf were given the task to prepare documents for the scheme.—PPI
