DHAKA, Jan 14: The Indian Border Security Force shot dead a Bangladeshi youth and kidnapped five others in different incidents on Saturday and Friday.

The youth, Jaibur Rahman, 28, was shot dead near the border in Naogaon on Saturday.

Villagers alleged the Indians had taken away the body of Jaibur Rahman.

A spokesman for the Bangladesh Rifles said Jaibur was shot by the BSF while he was returning to Bangladesh from India. He died on the spot.

In another incident, soldiers of the Border Security Force trespassed on Bangladesh territory on Friday and kidnapped five people in Jessore.
