KARACHI, Jan 13:City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has under Section 144 prohibited encroachments over government land in the jurisdiction of CDGK. The order shall come into force with immediate effect and remain in force for a period of three months.

Through another order, the city nazim has enforced ban on excavating and lifting of reti-bajri and stones etc. from entire Karachi district.

The step has been taken as uncontrolled and unauthorised excavation has created serious problems for the safety of public property and land.

The nazim has also banned swimming and bathing in the Hub canal to save the banks of canal from damages.

HEAVY TRAFFIC BANNED: In another order, the nazim said since the general public has reacted violently against the fatal accidents caused by movement of heavy vehicles within the limits of CDGK, movement of heavy vehicles has been prohibited in city limits between 7am and 9am and 6pm and 8pm.—PPI
