KARACHI: Bid to resolve FCS crisis

Published January 11, 2006

KARACHI, Jan 10: In a fresh bid to resolve the lingering crisis in Fishermen Cooperative Society, elected directors of the FCS urged the three-member managing committee to call a meeting of the 15-member board of directors for electing a new chairman and vice-chairman of the society.

In a signed letter (dated 2-1-2006) sent to the managing committee, the elected directors expressed concern over the delay in convening the meeting was due since August 2004.

They said in the absence of a full-fledged board and its chairman, the administrative and financial affairs of the society were being affected badly.
