Fact-finding team of HRCP arrives in Dera Bugti

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 9: A fact-finding team of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan headed by its chairperson, Asma Jehangir, arrived in Dera Bugti on Monday.

The mission returned from Kashmore on Sunday evening after it came under an armed attack near the Punjab-Balochistan border area.

The government provided security to the HRCP delegation after the firing incident that brought it to Dera Bugti, receiving it at the border of Balochistan and Punjab.

Sources said that Asma Jehangir and members of her fact-finding mission had a meeting with the chief of Jamhoori Watan Party, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, and discussed the latest situation in the area. Mr Bugti informed the HRCP mission about the on-going operation launched by paramilitary forces in various areas of Dera Bugti district and Dear Bugti township.
