KARACHI: SSGC criticized

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 9: People have complained about poor working of Sui Southern Gas Company, who said the utility is not responding to their complaints.

They also complained that the 119 helpline number of the utility either remained busy or was not being attended.

A consumer from Block 4-A, in Gulshan-i-Iqbal (consumer No.0037760) lodged a complaint on Sunday, but no one turned up to rectify the problem. He said that gas pressure dropped in his home, while pressure was normal in other houses of his locality. He had dialled 119 and 9231500 on Monday, but the numbers were either busy or not being attended.

An SSGC spokesman said that gas pressure had dropped due to cold weather in various localities and most of the complaints were received from DHA. He said more than 550 complaints were received from different areas and the company was trying to rectify the problem.

He denied that the response of the company was poor and cited that many of the officials had gone on leave to celebrate Eid and the remaining staff was handling complaints, which was taking time.
