DETROIT, Jan 9: BMW Group pushed ahead of rival Mercedes-Benz after global sales rose 9.9 per cent in 2005 to a record 1.33 million vehicles, the German automaker said on Monday.
While the DaimlerChrysler subsidiary also had a banner year, up 1.7pc to a record 1.22m vehicles, Mercedes has been struggling with quality problems and saw sales drop sharply in its home market.—AFP
