Maqbool, Nazish best shooters

KARACHI, Jan 8: The marksmen of Pakistan Navy maintained their ascendancy when they retained 15th National Rifle Shooting title at the PN Shooting Range, on Sunday. The sailors snatched 14 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze to accumulate 739 points to finish on top for the fifth successive year.

They were followed by Army who returned with 10 gold, 10 silver and seven bronze to collect 585 points.

Sindh grabbed third position with a tally of three gold, two silver and one bronze for a total of 162 points.

The sailors got able support from their markswomen who grabbed four of the five golds.

The PAF had to be content with a silver and eight bronze to finish fourth on the medal table.

In all, 27 golds were up for grabs in the men and women competition.

M. Maqbool Tabassum and Mrs Nazish Khan, both serving in Navy, were declared ‘Best Shooters’ in men and women categories.
