Fleeing dacoits kill woman

OKARA, Jan 8: Fleeing dacoits shot dead a woman in Thatta Kandar Ka village on Sunday. Reports said that five dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Mansha and started collecting valuables. In the meanwhile, the inmates woke up and raised an alarm. At this, the dacoits took to their heels.

They opened fire when the villagers tried to chase them. As a result, a bullet hit Gaman Bibi who died on the spot. However, villagers overpowered three outlaws who were identified as Javid Iqbal, Mazhar Iqbal and Athar Shah. Later, police also rushed to the spot and held the remaining two dacoits after a long chase. They were identified as Ayub and Munir.

Meanwhile, a youth, Yousaf of Thatta Kalason village, shot dead his brother Ashiq for refusing to give him Rs40,000 for repayment of his bank loan.

Chuchuk police have registered a case on the report of deceased’s son Hafiz Asghar.
