KARACHI, Jan 8: The municipal administrations of various towns have finalised arrangements for cleanliness, disposal of offal of sacrificial animals and spraying of insecticides on the occasion of Eidul Azha. The Nazim of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Muhammad Wasey Jaleel, presided over a meeting of town officials in this connection on Sunday and assigned tasks to Town Naib Nazim Shoaib Akhter and Town Municipal Officer Matanat Ali Khan.

The town administration has also started digging so that animal waste can be buried to convert it into fertilizer.

It has issued handbills containing contact numbers of complaints centres and other useful information to facilitate residents.

The nazim has also declared emergency throughout the town and cancelled vacations of the town staff of various departments.

The nazim will pay surprise visits to different areas of the town to review the performance of town staff.

People have been advised to call on telephone nos 9230355-59 to register complaints while the offices of the nazim and the TMO will remain open on Eid days.

LANDHI TOWN: The Nazim Landhi Town, Muhammad Nazir Lakhani, has declared emergency and cancelled Eid vacations of town staff for cleanliness, disposal of offal of sacrificial animals and spraying of insecticides on Eidul Azha.

The town nazim chaired a meeting of town officials in this regard on Sunday. It was also attended by Town Naib Nazim Asif Hussain.

The town administration will launch a special campaign on the occasion of Eid for cleanliness and disposal of animal waste.

A total of 14 complaint centres have been set up in various parts of the town besides a central complaint centre at the Camp office at Landhi No-5. The DTO Planning will be in-charge of this centre.

All union council secretaries will remain present in their respective offices to supervise the activities of staff of their respective UCs.

BIN QASIM TOWN: The Town Municipal Administration Bin Qasim has set up nine complaint centres to ensure the removal of animal offal and to maintain proper sanitation on Eidul Azha.

A central complaint centre has been established in the town administration’s head office. Contact numbers of responsible officials have also been issued for convenience of town residents, said a press release on Sunday.
