Arthur found not guilty

SYDNEY, Jan 6: South African coach Mickey Arthur has been found not guilty of public criticism of the umpires in the third cricket Test against Australia, the match referee said Friday.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) referee, Chris Broad, released his findings following a disciplinary hearing with Arthur after Thursday’s fourth day of play.

Arthur had said the South Africans were disappointed with leg before wicket appeals that were turned down against three Australian batsmen — Mike Hussey, Ricky Ponting and Andrew Symonds.—Agencies
