Cold weather to persist in country


ISLAMABAD, Jan 6: The Meteorological Department on Friday forecast cold and dry weather for most parts of the country, including Islamabad, during the next 24 hours. Severe cold wave is likely to persist in hilly areas, including the quake-affected areas. Weather would remain partly cloudy and cold in Northern Areas, Muzaffarabad, Murree and Quetta while partly cloudy and foggy conditions are likely to prevail in Lahore.

Dry and windy weather has been forecast for Karachi while dry weather has been forecast for Peshawar.

During the past 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, the met office said.

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at Kalat and Quetta with minus 15 degrees Celsius.—APP
