SARGODHA, Jan 6: Law and order situation in the Punjab is not satisfactory despite provision of all facilities to the police, according to Provincial Minister for Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Shuja Khanzada. Speaking at a press conference at the DCO committee room, he claimed that the chief minister had provided huge funds to equip the police with modern equipment but the police had failed to control crime. Nor was there any improvement in the officials’ attitude towards the public.
The government was equally paying attention to the education, health and irrigation sectors. The chief minister, he said, had succeeded in convincing the donors to invest for bringing about improvement in the literacy rate and upgrading facilities.
The salaries for special education teachers had almost been doubled.
He said the emergency ambulance service would likely to start in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad and Sargodha. He said Rs6.5 billion had been allocated for the health sector improvement.
Admitting that skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and unemployment had created unrest in society, he announced that the government would announce 19,000 vacancies for teachers across Punjab.
